ForestWISE brings together key Forest and Fire players for its 5th Anniversary

CoLAB ForestWISE is celebrating its fifth anniversary in a session that will be attended by key players in the fire, forest and land sectors: Patrícia Gaspar, State Secretary for Civil Protection, João Paulo Catarino, State Secretary for Nature Conservation and Forests and Isabel Ferreira, State Secretary for Regional Development.

The ceremony will also be attended by Carlos Fonseca, CTO of CoLAB ForestWISE, Emídio Gomes, Principal of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Miguel Silveira, Executive Director of Altri Florestal and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CoLAB ForestWISE, José Manuel Mendonça, Chairman of the Board of Directors of INESC TEC, the members of this CoLAB and partners from all over the country.
The session will take place on September 29 at 10:00 am in the Geosciences Auditorium, School of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro.

This event, in which CoLAB ForestWISE will bring together the main national and international personalities and entities committed to the enhancement of the forest, the sustainable development of rural areas and the reduction of major forest fires, will also inaugurate the facilities of CoLAB’s new headquarters at the UTAD Campus in Vila Real.

CoLAB ForestWISE is a collaborative laboratory created with the aim of promote integrated forest and fire management, based on (co)research and development activities and knowledge transfer. Its work has been central to the connection between companies, industry, academia and the public sector, promoting innovation, research and cooperation to face the major challenges of forest management in our country.
