The React More project challenges children and young people in the municipality of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, in the district of Guarda, to raise awareness about desertification and reflect on the forest in reversing this situation.
React More – Action Project for Reforestation and Fight Against Desertification of Moreirolas – is the result of a partnership between the public forest management company Florestgal, which is the project leader, CoLAB ForestWISE and APATA.
Children and young people were invited to develop works that will be exposed in Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, in order to “raise awareness of the population to the seriousness of desertification with negative impacts, particularly at the level of drought, soil erosion and rural depopulation,” says Florestgal, in a press release sent today to the Lusa agency.
Some of the works will be selected later for exposure in an ‘outdoor’ of the municipality.
