A Master in Forest Engineering (UTAD, 2012) and postgraduate degree in Local Development, territories, society and citizenship, Rui has over 20 years of experience resulting from the participation in several research projects in areas related to rural fires, fuel management, forestry-pastoralism, pests and diseases of some forest species and public participation. Rui also has experience in forest associations, namely in technical coordination of an Organization of Forest Producers and in technical support to the planning of forest defense against wildfires at a municipal level. In addition, he is trained in GIS with ArcGIS tool.
