WildForests: Wildlife conservation in Eucalyptus production forests

The WildForests project, developed by researchers from different Portuguese institutions, was implemented under the 2017 Call for Scientific Research and Technological Development (IC&DT) Projects of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. Its main objective was to understand the impacts of eucalyptus plantations on the ecological patterns of mammals, since they are a particularly relevant rate due to their importance in Mediterranean ecosystems. For this purpose, eucalyptus plantations and native vegetation areas were selected as study areas, and camera traps were installed to allow mammal detection.
