On 27 January, Pampilhosa da Serra hosted Resinae Ignite, the event that marked the official launch of the Resinae brand, created to enhance the value of natural Pinus pinaster resin, positioning it as a benchmark for quality, traceability and sustainability in the global market. Experts, entrepreneurs, producers and institutional representatives met in a dynamic and collaborative environment, debating the challenges and opportunities facing the sector, promoting dialogue to boost innovation and competitiveness in resin processing.

The opening session featured a speech by Carlos Fonseca, from CoLAB ForestWISE, who emphasised the commitment to the sustainable and strategic development of the Natural Resin sector. This was followed by themed sessions that addressed each stage of the value chain, from production and sustainable practices to market opportunities. Pedro Teixeira, from the Pine Centre, stressed the importance of sustainable production, guaranteeing a quality product with added value. Marco Ribeiro, from Resipinus, emphasised the vital role of resin workers in the rural economy, stressing the importance of valuing and dignifying this fundamental professional activity.

In the session on the first transformation, Ricardo Gomes, from Nares, discussed the importance of industrial processes in guaranteeing the traceability and competitiveness of resin on the international market. The panel dedicated to the second transformation included Pedro Gil, from Gum Rosin, who presented perspectives on new applications and innovative products based on resin, in line with the growing demand for sustainable materials. João Kohler, from Colquímica, analysed the challenges and potential of Natural Resin in the global context, highlighting crucial strategies for certification and international expansion. Javier Calvo, from Cesefor, added value to the event by sharing Spain’s experience in the resin sector. Throughout the day, participants debated the main challenges and opportunities facing the industry, consolidating a comprehensive vision of the sector’s future.

The most awaited moment of the event came with the official launch of the Resinae brand, presented by Jani Pires and Juliana Salvação, from CoLAB ForestWISE. Resinae represents a new paradigm for Natural Resin, guaranteeing greater transparency, traceability and added value for the sector. This brand is a symbol of commitment to quality and sustainability, in line with the demands of international markets.

The Resinae Ignite event demonstrated the potential of this renewable raw material and reaffirmed the RN21 Project’s commitment to strengthening the natural resin sector, driving innovation, sustainability and competitiveness.
